My name is Lauren Peralta. I’m a photographer living in New York. My purpose is to expose the viewers of my work to a world they thought they knew. I strive to show people the hardest things to bear/bare in this world, and to this world. Death, depression, anger, abuse, cruelty, and abandonment, to serenity, sexuality, love, release, closure, and life. I have taken many self portraits, and I’ve come to realize it has helped me grow far more in the discovery of myself in ways I never expected.
As far as self portraits go in helping as a photographer, I’ll let you judge for yourself. I specialize in portraiture, extracting emotion via my camera lens from my subjects and preserving it forever in that instant. And I want to do this for the rest of my life.
